Learn how to use ClerkIQ's bank statement processing feature to automatically extract and reconcile transactions from your bank statements.
Bank Statement Processing
ClerkIQ's bank statement processing feature allows you to automatically extract transactions from your bank statements. This powerful tool saves you time by eliminating manual data entry and ensures accuracy in your financial records.
How It Works
When you upload a bank statement, ClerkIQ's advanced AI technology:
- Analyzes each page of your statement to identify transactions
- Extracts key information including dates, descriptions, amounts, and balances
- Verifies the accuracy of the extracted data through multiple validation checks
- Organizes all transactions into a structured, searchable format
Getting Started
Uploading Bank Statements
- Navigate to the Bank Statements section in your ClerkiQ dashboard
- Click the "Upload Statement" button
- Select your PDF bank statement file(s)
- Choose the bank account the statement belongs to
- Click "Process" to begin the extraction
During processing, you'll see a progress indicator showing the current status. Processing time depends on the size and complexity of your statements.
Reviewing Extracted Transactions
Once processing is complete, you'll see all extracted transactions displayed in a table format with:
- Transaction date
- Description
- Amount (debits and credits)
- Running balance
- Verification status
Transactions are highlighted based on their verification status:
- ✅ Verified: The transaction data matches expected patterns and balances
- ⚠️ Review Needed: The system detected potential discrepancies that might need your attention
Working With Extracted Data
You can:
- Search transactions by date, description, or amount
- Filter to show specific transaction types
- Export the data to various formats for use in other systems
- Edit any transactions that need manual correction
- Tag transactions for easier categorization
